The Space Residency

The Performance Corporation’s SPACE Programme is a unique residency offering arts and creative practitioners an opportunity to collaborate, experiment and innovate.  This unique international multi-disciplinary residency  allows you to escape your creative comfort zone in the open and inspiring environment. ’

I was fortunate to receive an International artist place in the 2015 Residency held at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig in Ireland. Centred on the performing arts this was a challenging, rewarding and enriching experience. Networking with artist from other artforms was central to that experience and the opportunity to work and talk with Dancer/Choreographer Adam Chienjo from Kenya has in turn lead to further collaborative opportunities.

Filmed in one day during the residency the work ‘Well Well Well’ with singer songwriter Cal Folger Day was later completed and has been shown in Scotland.

Adam’s own film ‘Limbo’ created in Africa was shown in both ‘Underground’ and ‘On the Ground’. And the joint residency in Perth, Sharing Space Perth Africa Connect was a direct outcome of the Space residency.
